Reflecting on the Cosmos & Environment

The natural world is the larger sacred community to which we belong.

To be alienated from this community is to become destitute in all that makes us human.

To damage this community is to diminish our own existence.
( Thomas Berry )

Updating our Cosmology updates our Theology.

We are part of an ever expanding Cosmos that is 13.8 billion years old. We too are evolving and many people believe that we are currently facing an evolution in consciousness. Change always is accompanied by challenge and one natural response to challenge is resistance. This resistance can take many forms, one of which is violence.

Consequently, the Spiritual Traveller, needs to pause and reflect on the changes and challenges facing us in this current era of change.   With this in mind,

A DAY OF REFLECTION

 On the Cosmos & Environment

Saturday  12th  March   2016 :-     10.30 - 4.30

Friends Meeting House, Summerfield Road   Wolverhampton

"The realization that we know very little about the universe grows as we experience the presence of God ( Source)  everywhere. ... That divine presence enables us to forget ourselves and enter into collaboration with the creation of the universe.  Apparently, we have been given an enormous capacity to affect it.  We are accountable for everyone else in the human family and for all living things.  For all practical purposes, how we treat other people is what we are doing to ourselves.“ Thomas Keating 2015

This Day of Reflection will provide an opportunity to look at several major problems and challenges  facing our human family. It will be an opportunity to take time to ' Sit by the Wayside' and reflect on the spiritual implications of being co-creators in this  vast, evolutionary and ever-expanding Cosmos. There will be time for silence and personal reflection.

THIS IS AN OPEN EVENT - ALL ARE WELCOME
PLEASE BRING A PACKED LUNCH
